Siyang Liu is a PhD candidate in Chemistry at Case Western Reserve University. He earned his BS degree in Chemistry from the University of Delaware and has developed expertise in analytical chemistry and biochemistry. Currently, his research focuses on the discovery and quantitative analysis of lipid peroxidation-derived bioactive small molecules relevant to oxidative stress and inflammatory diseases. His work centers on the development and optimization of LC–MS/MS methods to detect and quantify pseudo-leukotrienes (øLTs), structural analogs of cysteinyl leukotrienes (CysLTs) formed through free radical oxidation of arachidonic acid. By integrating analytical chemistry with cell-based molecular biology, he investigates inflammatory pathways and their potential clinical relevance in asthma. Liu has extensive experience in LC–MS/MS, bioanalytical method development, biological sample handling, and in vitro assays, with a strong interest in translating analytical measurements into biologically and clinically meaningful insights.
