Tim Blanc is a biopharmaceutical scientist with 36 years of industry experience, including 18 years at Johnson & Johnson and 18 years at Eli Lilly & Company. He is recognized for deep expertise in capillary electrophoresis, analytical development, protein characterization, and CMC support for biopharmaceutical products spanning development through commercial manufacturing.
Capillary electrophoresis has been a constant throughout Tim’s career. He participated in the development of the first commercial capillary electrophoresis instrumentation and has spent decades advancing electrophoretic methods for biopharmaceutical analysis. He serves as a CASSS Associate Director, has been active with the CE Pharm Organizing Committee since 2010, and received the 2021 CE Pharm Award recognizing sustained contributions to practical applications of capillary electrophoresis in biotechnology and pharmaceutical analysis.
Most recently, Tim served as Director of Technical Services and Manufacturing Sciences at Eli Lilly, supporting analytical control strategy, comparability, and manufacturing sciences for monoclonal antibody programs. He currently serves as Scientific Advisor to Faraday Bio and supports innovation in analytical technologies to strengthen structure-function understanding and accelerate biopharmaceutical development. Additionally, he serves as a scientific advisor to Alchemi and Gen Next Technologies, supporting AI-enabled workflows and emerging analytical solutions for the biopharmaceutical industry.
